Matupo Pottery – Marjorie Wallace

A graduate of Michaelis School of Art in Cape Town, Marjorie Wallace is a gifted ceramic artist. She produces fine porcelain objects inspired by the traditional basket making familiar to her from her youth, which she scratches, presses and incises with linear designs and decoration. In a country where supplies and resources are a constant problem she opens her pottery to other ceramicists and trains younger artisans.
